This center will be the first of its kind in the coastal Kenya. There is no single center which promotes the youth talent as a whole. The Coast Talent Centre will recruit talented youth in all spheres from the region. The center will offer training, practice, mentorship and linkage to relevant areas for graduates of the center to continue earning a living.

The project will establish a center fully equipped with relevant talent equipment for the different areas on offer. Students will be accommodated at the center for a given period and allowed to undertake mentorship programs with different centers of excellence in the region and outside the region. The center will be administered from the headquarter office and different programs implemented in the satellite centers.

The project will establish the dressmaking center in Mombasa and establish satellites in Kilifi, Voi and Malindi. Students will be mentored on fashion designing, tie and dye, and modeling. Upon graduation they will be given sewing machines, starting capital of Kshs. 10,000 and connected to a marketing cooperative society. This will ensure their skills are gainful after the training and mentorship. The center will have recruitment of 40 students every semester.

A lot of youth excel in this field nowadays because of television exposure and internet interactions. However this is only done and enjoyed best in schools. Once the youth are out of school these talents die out and are no longer nurtured for economic productivity. Those that pursue them struggle to get promoters and motivators for their unique talents such as music composition, acting and instrumentals. The center will establish talent clubs where musicians will be perfected by special trainers and role models, thereafter facilitated to form their own bands. The center will give initial instruments for perfect establishment and promotion of their careers. It will also train artists in music production and copy writing.

The theatre arts will be promoted through coaching, script writing, and stage presence management and facilitated to produce movies and make presentations in special forums and fixtures. This center will be operated only in Mombasa city.

Sports are one area of specialization which is easy entry for most youth. This will only be done as a satellite center because of the magnitude of land size required for the field sports. The satellite specializing in athletics and other sports such as the ball games will be established in Kilifi town. The project will recruit extra talented youth who excel in provincial and national sports event from the six counties in Coast schools’ events. At least 15 students per county for every one year. The students will be mentored and linked to the national sports team through the ministry of Youth for inclusion in the national team. In addition, they will enjoy exposure visits to established centers such as the Item athletics camp where they will participate for a period of two weeks during the program, the project will facilitate the centers students in training and accommodation fee.
